Arianna Halima al Tiye' is of East Afrikan descent and hails from New York City. She began her studies in Afrikan Dance over 30 years ago, when she began studying with her mother, a former dancer, choreographer and award-wining painter. Later, Arianna became a member of the student body of dancers at Ballet Hispanco and The Alvin Ailey School of Dance. In addition to studying dance in the United States, she has researched, performed and studied dance internationally for over 10 years in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Orient, and in the Mediterranean. She is considered a leading performer and authority in her field of dance, and conducts workshops throughout the United States. Some of her dance performance credits include: "The African Diaspora and World Conference", 2003-04 Olympics in Greece - World Music Institute, Viva Brazil - Girls from Ipanema, "Fusion": Tribute concert to Carlos Santana, Essence Awards,"In Search of A Goddess": Inspirations of the Divine Enchantress Ruth St.. Denis - Off Broadway Production.
