I began taking lessons on May. I feel I am ready for my first performance but I am having a hard time deciding what style is best for me. I really enjoy tribal and everything it stands for but my lessons are in Egyptian Cabaret. I really need the opinion of the veteran dancers. Should I perform a piece with what I learned and develop into tribal or should I just dive in tribal head first?

07/02I would say go with what you enjoy the most, you will have that much more fun with it. Enjoy what you decide. Love your photo by the way. -

07/02Agreed--Sparkle said it best--but remember to dance with what you FEEL and not with what you think! Besides sometimes the 2 can be combined beautifully.

07/03Trust me, do what you like. I think as long as you dance with your soul it'l be beautiful. Haha I'm so bad at this I'm really crazy for every style. :) Anyways do what you feel is best!

07/03I want to thank you all for confirming what I thought all along. Although I do enjoy Egpytian Cabaret and will perform those pieces as well, I think my heart lies with ATS. So I will begin to work on my first ever dance based on tribal. If anyone has any continued advice on hair, make-up etc., please feel free to send me emails. -

07/06i would definitely check out the numerous tribal style tribes here.
tribe has a lot of info and is where i come when i want inspiration.
